Hi,

I have two questions regarding TS5A3166:

1. Is there a difference between the currents of the NO and COM pins?

For instance if a 5mA current is driven from the NO pin, what is the expected current at the COM pin (and vice versa)?

2. In case of a contention, i.e. different voltages in the NO and COM pins (for instance, NO = 1.8V, COM = 5V, for several mS), how will the device react?

A switch that is is on behaves pretty much like a resistor. The on-resistance flatness is not quite perfect, but there will not be leakage currents going elsewhere.

When you connect a 0.9 Ω resistor between 1.8 V and 5 V, a current will flow, and it will be much larger then the absolute maximum rating of 200 mA. This is likely to damage the device.

So is there any other 1:1 SPST switch, which supports Vin/out of 1.8V-5V, with can handle such failure?

A higher switch resistance would limit the current, but there is no switch that would have such a high resistance (> 64 Ω for 50 mA).

Just add a resistor.
