    Hi Frank,

    From what I am able to find on the web, SAS3 supports speeds up to 12Gb/s and SAS4 speeds up to 24Gb/s. The data rate will dictate which mux/switch will used. TI’s fastest MUX (TMUX136) has a BW of 6GHz and can support ~4Gb/s easily. The rough formula we use to select switches is Bandwidth = (3/2)xDataRate. With the TMUX1574 with a BW of 2 GHz, we get a DR of ~1.3Gb/s.
