TS5MP646: (TMUX646 Pin-to-pin upgrade supporting 6-GHz bandwidth available)Can I use this part for single ended signal multiplexing?

Part Number: TMUX646TS5MP646
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TS5MP646

Hi

In our new design we want to use a high speed 2:1 multiplexer to switch between two octal spi flash memories (having single ended signals).

The maximum clock frequency would be 200MHz with 8x data IO and other control signals.

Can we use this part for interfacing between the host processor and two octal memories?

  • Hi 6346439,

The TS5MP646 can be used either as 5 differential channels or 10 single ended channels.

From the Datasheet on Page 25:

"The clock and data lanes can be interchanged as necessary to facilitate the best layout possible for the application. In addition, the signal lines of the TS5MP646 are routed single ended on the chip die. This makes the device suitable for both differential and single-ended high-speed systems."

This part will be sufficient for your application with up to 10  channels.

    Best Regards,

    Parker
