SN74CBT3383: Operating Temperature range?

On the webpage, it says the Operating Temperature range of this part is -40 to 85 DegC.

In section 6.3 of the datasheet (Recommeded Operating Conditions), it says the Operating free-air temperature for the SN74CBT3383 is 0 to 70 DegC.

What is the difference?

Hi BIll,

There seems to be a typo on the web page for this part. The temp range that you should follow is in the datasheet. The SN54CBT3383 is the extended temp version of the SN74CBT3383 if the temp range is going to be beyond the 0 to 70 in the datasheet.

Please compare the information in section 6.3 with the temperature range under the "Packaging Information" section, too. Down there, it's -40 to 85.

Hi Bill,

I now see where the confusion lies. I am sorry for this as this can definitely be frustrating.

So after checking with our team, the packaging section with the addendum that lists the temp from -40C to 85C is also incorrect. The correct temp range for the SN74CBT3383 is what is listed under recommended operating conditions in the datasheet which is 0C to 70C.

There's a similar part; SN74CBT3383CPW, in the same package. The datasheet for that part says is -40 to 85; is that operating termperature correct?
