TMUX1111: SEL floating for test

Genius 16535 points
Part Number: TMUX1111

Hi all

My customer is using the TMUX1111 in a design on an add-on board. For normal operation they always have well defined logic-levels at the SELx inputs.

For a standalone preproduction test of this board the SELx inputs will be floating. The customer asks if they need to add a pull-down resistor to all four SEL-inputs.

Might they see random channel switching otherwise ?

For this test the TMUX-function is not required but neverthelesss random switching should be prevented.

Best regards

  • Hi Ueli,

The TMUX1111 does not have integrated resistors at the select pin.

For the actual board with well defined logic levels at all time, this shouldn't be an issue.

However if you want to prevent random switching due to the floating select pin on the stand-alone pre-production board I'd advise adding pull-downs on the select pins; it isn't guaranteed you will see random switching but the undefined voltage on that pin could trigger switching.
