TMUX1574: Default switch status during powered-off state (VDD=0V)

Part Number: TMUX1574
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN3257-Q1

Hi,

Do the TMUX1574 or SN3257-Q1 have a default state if they are not powered? Are they protected against shorts even if they're not powered?

Thanks,
Adam

  • Hey Adam,

Both these devices have powered-off protection. Meaning when powered-off (VCC = 0) there will be isolation from the input to the output. So when powered off, the 'default' state at the signal paths is a High-Z state. However, note that this protection only goes up to 3.6V on both of these devices. So when the voltage on these signal paths exceeds that, you'll inevitably damage the chip.

    Hope this helps,
