TS5A21366: Can IN1/2 = 3.3V when use 1.8V at Vcc

Part Number: TS5A21366

Hi Team,

Can IN1/2 = 3.3V when use 1.8V at Vcc?

Based on spec, the maximum input voltage is Vcc. It seems like this violate spec.

  • The IN1 and IN2 pins are digital control inputs. Both the recommended operating conditions and absolute maximum ratings allow voltages higher than VCC.

  • Hi Shaq,

Yes, you can have IN1/IN2 be at 3.3V when your supply is 1.8V - it will register as a logic high still as well. As Clemens mentioned, this part's rec. operating conditions allow up to 5.5V on the digital control pin when you have a VCC of 1.65V - 5.5V. The part will not sustain damage until 6.5V as mentioned in the absolute maximum operating conditions section of the datasheet.
