Hi Team,
I want to know the difference between TMUX1308 and CD74HC4051. TMUX1308 looks better spec than CD74HC4051 though, Can all the sockets of CD74HC4051 be replaced by the TMUX1308?
Please let me know if there are any conditions that cannot be replaced.
Regards,
Takashi Onawa
Hello,
I am happy to hear about your interest in the new TMUX1308. You are correct that TMUX1308 offers improved specifications and features. In addition, TMUX1308 is pin-to-pin compatible with CD74HC4051 in the TSSOP package.
Please note that pin7 of TMUX1308 (no connect) corresponds to pin7 of CD74HC4051 (negative power input). TMUX1308 does not have a negative power input. If the negative power input of CD74HC4051 is not used, pin 7 should be externally connected to GND (and it is acceptable to route pin 7 of TMUX1308 to GND as well, as it is not internally electrically connected). All other pins are functionally similar between devices.
If you are interested in an even smaller leaded package, TMUX1308 is available in the new SOT-23-THN (DYY) package! Check out this short article to learn more about TMUX1308 and this exciting new SOT-23 package.
Best regards,
Kate
