TS5A22364: Analog Switch for Audio CODEC Inputs & Outputs

Part Number: TS5A22364
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV320AIC3263

Hello,

For our application, we need to select one of two Audio input channels to get connected to the TI Audio CODEC IC TLV320AIC3263. Attached the block diagram for reference. We are planning to use the analog switch IC TS5A22364 for audio switching. For built in testing purpose we are planning to loop back CODEC IC DAC audio output after signal condition to ADC input as shown in block diagram. For this purpose also TS5A22364 is planned to avoid any kind of PCB stub. Before finalizing the audio switch part we need to confirm whether the TS5A22364 is suitable for our application.

Thanks & Regards

  • Hafiz,

This should be fine. As long as the voltage and frequency levels coming in/out of the ADC/DAC stay within the recommended voltage (Vcc - 5.5V to Vcc) and frequency (BW = 18.3 MHz when Vcc = 5V) specs of the device, this will work for your application.TS5A22364 has a low R-on and low leakage current which will mitigate signal distortion.
What voltages are you expecting into the switches? In typical audio analog use cases, i've seen negative voltages seen so the TS5A22364 would be a good option to handle the negative voltages. If you expect V >= 0V the TS5A623157 is a good low Ron, Con, leakage current option as well.
