TS5A23157: ts5a23157 ON-STATE current question

Part Number: TS5A23157
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TS5A23159

Hi team,

could you help confirm the normal current capacity of the lower gate voltage switch TS5A23157? For example, the output voltage will not change if the normal 30mA current flows.
The manual only gave a maximum of 50mA. How long is the duration of this 50mA?

If the pulse is very short, for example, is there a problem with a higher current of the ns level?

  • Hello,

The on-state switch current absolute maximum for NC, NO, COM I/O is +/-50mA.

If the voltage at these pins is within recommended operating conditions (0 to V+), the maximum current that the switch can support NC<-->COM or NO<-->COM is +/-50mA.

The input and output voltage ratings at these pins may be exceeded, limited to 5.5V MAX, if the input and output clamp-current ratings are observed (if the current of the signal spike does not exceed +/-50mA). This is the current through the internal ESD protection diode.

Keep in mind, these are stress ratings only, and functional operation of the device at these or any other conditions beyond those indicated under Recommended Operating Conditions is not implied. Exposure to absolute-maximum-rated conditions for extended periods may affect device reliability.

You may be interested in TS5A23159. This device supports up to +/-400mA with I/O voltages within recommended operating conditions. This device has powered-off protection, so the switch will be high-Z and the device will not back-power the supply rail if the device is powered-down.

Let me know if this answers your question.

    Best regards,
    Kate
