SN74CBTLV3257: suggestions to fix noise in I2S audio signals

Part Number: SN74CBTLV3257
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMUX1574

Dear Sir,

We are currently using the part SN74CBTLV3257 as a switch to select I2S audio signals, however, we found noisy audio in the output when this part is added to the circuit.  When this switch is removed and direct connect to the two I2S interfaces, then no noise is gone.  We have tried several methods and still can't fix the noisy audio problem.  Do you have any good suggestions to fix the problem?

Thanks for your support.

Best Regards,

Kenneth Wong

  • What is the bit rate?

    Show the schematic.

  • Hi Kenneth,

Thanks for your question and welcome to E2E!

As Clemens mentioned, it would be helpful if you could provide a schematic or block diagram to help us visualize and get a better understanding of your system.

What is the bit rate or bandwidth of your I2S audio signals?

Thanks for letting us know that you have tried shorting the device and the noise goes away. What are the other methods you have tried in your troubleshooting steps?

Could you describe or provide a scope shot of the signal noise that you are experiencing?

I would also like to recommend that you check out TMUX1574, which is a device better suited for high-speed applications.

    Best regards,
    Kate
