TMUX6219: Is there any parameter which can show a noise rejection performance like PSRR?

Part Number: TMUX6219

 Hello guys,

One of my customers is considering using MUX6219 for their new products.

They have a question as the follow. Could you give me your reply?

 Q. We are worry that power line (VDD) noise of MUX6219 affects signal line (S1, S2, D).

Is there any parameter which can show a performance of power line noise rejection level?

Or it is no need to worry as long as a capacitances are attached between signal line and GND?

Your reply would be much appreciated.

 Best regards,

 Kazuya.

  • HI Kazuya-san,

Adding a power supply de-coupling capacitor is the best way to minimize any noise coupling on the power supply line. Please refer to "Power supply recommendations and Layout" section in the datasheet for best design guidance. The recommendation is to use 0.1uF to 10uF capacitors on VDD and VSS pins plus reducing ESR/ESL by minimizing trace resistances and via's between the device supply pin and the capacitor placement. We recommend at minimum a 0.1uF and a 1uF capacitors on the supply pins.

The ACPSSR specification in the "Switching characteristics" section of the datasheet is meant to address this aspect of the system and gives a good indication on how the decoupling capacitors help.

  •  Hi Sandesh,

     Thank you for your reply.

     It is very help information.

Thank you again and best regards,

     Kazuya.
