TS3A27518E-Q1: Can I use 2x 6 bit 2:1 devices to support octal SPI communication between flash memory and SOC?

Part Number: TS3A27518E-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN3257-Q1

e2e,

Would you please recommend an appropriate 2:1 Mux product to meet the use case as diagram below?

I'm searching for 2:1 Mux with multiple channels to support octal SPI communication between flash memory and SOC.

Any other devices you recommend that can be automotive qualified will be helpful.

Thank you,

Adam

  • Hi Adam,

We have a couple of options for the application

First the TS3A27518E-Q1 this is a 6 channel 2:1 switch, made with qSPI in mind - if you have two them you can create a 12 channel input so that it can support octal SPI - you would just short the control lines on both IC's together so they would act as 1 12 channel device - even though they are two separate IC's.

We also have the SN3257-Q1,  this is a 4 channel  2:1 switch that is heavily used as a flash memory switch - it can handle Octal SPI if 3 of these IC's are connected to make a 12 channel device out of the 3 4 channel devices.

These are both Automotive qualified and ready for these types of applications.

Please let me know if you have any other questions!

    Best,

    Parker Dodson
