TMUX1108: What's the scope of Source or drain continuous current in recommended Operating Conditions

If the recommended operating conditions do not say anything, then you are allowed to go near the absolute maximum ratings.

Why do you have a load of 20 mA? This device is designed for switching signals, not power; there might be a more appropriate solution for your application.

Thanks for reaching out! Yes, our devices can be used in this range. There is no concern with passing 20 mA through this switch from a device perspective. Note that the TMUX1108 has an on-resistance R_ON that would cause some voltage drop across the device. This is heavily dependent upon the voltages in question in your design. But to be clear, continuous DC current within the limits you noted can be used through the life of the product.

I have one current source to drive 8 laser diodes one by one accuratly。
The laser diode driver Ibios max need set to 20mA，we need the leakage current low enough on drive path，so I find Tmux1108.

Hi Alex,

TMUX1108 will work for your requirements and I have another suggestion.

Since you are driving 20mA to turn on the laser diodes you might not need the high precision, low leakage TMUX1108.

I would recommend using the lower cost TMUX1208 which still supports < +/-750nA leakage across the full temperature range which will work for your application. 

The TMUX1208 device has same pinout as the TMUX1108 if you connect the Pin 3 to GND/0V. This way you can always go back to the TMUX1108 if needed.
