TMUX1308: Failure Mode Distribution

Hello, 

i have a question regarding the Failure Mode Distribution of this component. 

Is it possible to describe the failure modes more in detail?

According to Table 3.1 the Failure modes are : 1. MUX no output (HIZ) ; 2. MUX channel stuck on; 3. MUX channel stuck off; 4.MUX functional out of specification voltage or timing

to 1.: this is clear

to 2.: does it mean, that the whole mux is permanent enabled or that one mux channel cannot be disabled --> when I switch to an other channel is there a short to the stucked channel?

Or am i able only to read this channel and not to switch to an other?

to 3.: what happens here? am i able to chose this channel but the output is HiZ/ there is no output? Or can i read only this channel?

to 4.: is it possible to get more information here about what isn't working? eg. the voltage value is manipulated or the channel switch takes to long time that the ecu thinks it reads a different channel?

    Please see clarifications below:

    1) Great!

    2) This is referring to one or multiple channels being stuck closed without any control to open the channel back up. This will short whatever other channel that is supposed to be closed to the channel that is permanently closed.

    3) You can select this channel, however, the control logic will not be able to close the channel as it will be stuck in the open/Hi-Z state with no output on the D-pin.

    4) This is talking about the datasheet operating voltages/timings no longer being valid. Essentially, if the device is recommended to operate at 5.5V, it may no longer be able to support this voltage level anymore if it enters that type of failure mode. Instead it may operate at only 3V now and timings may be affected to be slower than they were before.
