CD74HC4067: SPICE model for NI Multisim

Dear TI support,

I am looking for a SPICE model for the part CD74HC4067M in order to simulate my design with NI Multisim. I couldn't find any on the parts page and in the web.

Can you help?

  • Hi, Philipp,

    The models for device are typically on the "Design and Development" tab of the product folder. If there isn't a model on that tab it is not available. 

    It's possible to create a fairly accurate model using the datasheet parameters (RON, CS, and CD) as shown below, and plug it into your SPICE simulation.

    What are you trying to model with the switch? We can help answer questions about the switch performance.

    Thanks a lot for your helpful answer.

    I am trying to do a simple circuit with an LED which checks multiple lines for continuity. So nothing very timing critical. I just wanted to check if it actually works as I thought it would.

    Here is a screenshot from the idea: 

    Do I need to add pull-down resistors do the control inputs of the multiplexer? Am I missing something?

    Is there maybe a similiar model in Multisim?

    The device should work with your application. 

    The only thing that you need to pay attention to is not to exceed the max DC current (LED current) specified on the datasheet. For CD74HC4067, the max current is 25 mA per channel. Also, it's a good practice to add some decoupling capacitors to the power supply of the multiplexer. 

    You don't need pull-down resistors to the control pins if they are always actively driven. However, it might be a good practice to add a weak pull-down if you are worry about power-up sequence (ex: micro-controller powers up slower than the multiplexer's power supply). If unused, you should add a pull-down so the control pins are not floating, as descried in the Q&A post

    Unfortunately we do not have any other models available for this device.
