CCS: CCS: Unable to edit launch configurations in CCSV8

I am having the same problem as

I am using CCS 8.3.0.00009 on OS X and I was following the instructions here :. When I got to step 8, editing the debug sessions I get and error "No tab group defined for launch configuration type com.ti.ccstudio.launchType.device.debugging"

I originally updated 8.3 over and 8.2 install but after seeing this thread I did a fresh install and the problem persists. I also deleted the debug session and created a new one but still got the same error.

I can reproduce this with CCSv8.3. Seems like a new issue introduced in CCSv8 as it does not happen with CCS 7.4. I will file a bug for this, but in the meantime you can get to and edit the debug configuration from CCS menu Run->Debug Configurations and selecting the one for your project.
