Some additional information:
The license server is a virtual server.
• The pathname of the license file contains spaces

The changeover to the new virtual server license was necessary because the old license server is running Windows XP and can not be switched to Windows 7. On the old Windows XP computer, the license server is running - software without problems.

Thanks and regards,

Oleg

  • Hi Oleg,

how did they do the migration?   Did they rehost the license?  Have they tested that it works locally and that it is seen outside the vm?   I am not sure how flexnet handles vms.

    Best Regards,

    Lisa

  • We purchased one new license and rehosted three existing licenses. License Server for the four licenses is the Virtual Server.

We are not able to test that it works because the License daemon does not start. Here is the error message from the log - file:

We use this virtual server for several other flexnet licenses from other companies without any problems.

  • Hi Eduard,

what steps did you take.  Did you see this wiki and is the daemon in the correct folder?

    http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/License_Server_Administration_for_CCS

    WIthout more information, some thoughts

    - is it started as a service

    - could there be an antiviru or permission issue

    - have you tried rebooting etc

    - have you verified the eth0 address and that rehosting went correctly.

The first step, of course is to verify it works within the VM.

    Best Regards,
    LIsa

  • Hi Lisa,

after reinstalling the license server software as described in your document "License Server Administration for CCS" the license server is working as expected. I'm not sure what the exact reason for the error was but I'm glad that the problem is solved.

Thanks for your support on this issue.

    Best regards
    Eduard Delling

  • Hi Eduard,

very glad to hear.   Thanks for the update and all the best with development.

    Best Regards,
    Lisa
