What is the most graceful way to add Peripherals to a CCS v10.3 project?

Dear all TI Engineers and Experts,

I have been trying TI Code Composer Studio for some times.

I wonder whether it has a feature to add Peripherals to a target MCU project gracefully. If yes, how do I do this from within Code Composer Studio?

Nowadays, some MCU factories provide very intuitive and even semi-GUI in their MCU development IDE so that users can select and de-select peripherals very rapidly. Then, the sources will be generated by simply pressing a Button.

Timmy,

The answer to this dependents on which MCU family you are using. For example for SimpleLink Wireless Connectivity devices there is a tool called SysConfig that is part of Code Composer Studio that provides a GUI for adding peripherals and configuring the drivers. https://www.ti.com/tool/SYSCONFIG

Hi John,

I am developing a MSP-EXP432P401R Launchpad from within Code Composer Studio v10.3.

For example, how do I add an Interrupt, PWM, ADC, etc, to an existing empty project?

Timmy,

I will loop in the MSP team but here is some information to get you started.

I would suggest starting with the "empty" example that comes with the MSP432P4 SDK. You can open Resource Explorer from the view menu and then browse to the example here. If the SDK it is not installed it will allow you to install it.

Once the project is imported you can double click on the .syscfg file that is part of the project. That will open the SysConfig tool.

Right now, there is only a display driver for Sharp LCD.

Hi,

I think the Graphlib can do it. 'The demos are available in the MSP Graphics Library ("grlib") and show how to use the library in a project with the Kentec display. This demo shows the user how to enable the touch screen, create buttons, and use graphics primitives including colors and images.'
