Hello,
I have a problem to debug a C6713B under CCS10.3.0 with a Blackhawk BH-USB-560v2 emulator. In addition to the standard installation, I have installed Code Generation Tools 7.4.24, as the newer tools do not support the CPU.
The operating system is Windows 10 (64 Bit version).
I have created the setup for the debug session. Executing "Test connection" delivers good results.
When I try to debug a project, I get the following error message:

TMS320C671X: Error connecting to the target: (Error -1060 @ 0x0) Device is not responding to the request. Reset the device, and retry the operation. If error persists, confirm configuration, power-cycle the board, and/or try more reliable JTAG settings (e.g. lower TCLK). (Emulation package 9.3.0.00042)

I have tried this setup with a hardware from a customer and also with the C6713DSK. Both show the same error. I have also tried with my laptop, which runs the same OS, and also got the same result.
A debug session with another CPU (C5509A) is working well on the same computer.

Hello,

I was seeing the same issue when trying to use any external probe with my C6713DSK. I was able to resolve the issue by starting a debug session and then, before trying to connect, do a 'Run -> Reset -> Reset Emulator' and then power cycle the DSK. Then I was able to connect to the DSK without issue.

thanks for your help.

I have tested to reset the emulator with a power cycle of the board as suggested, but unfortunately, it still shows the same behaviour. I have tested it with the C6713DSK and the customer´s hardware on two different PCs.

Further ideas are very welcome.

I'm not sure how applicable the above information is however. WIth the C6713DSK, I had no issues using the on-board XDS510 (which is supported in CCS version 8.3.1 and earlier). However, I had issue using any external emulator (including BH XDS560v2) unless I did the reset emulator and power cycle before connection attempt.

Did you also try lowering the TCLK value for the 560v2?

I was also able to resolve the issue by simply pressing the RESET (SW2) button on the DSK.

thanks again for your help.

Pressing the reset-button solves the issue for the DSK!

However, I must find a way to reset the customer´s hardware in the same way.

Good to hear that resetting the DSK helped with the issue. On the customer's board, hopefully there is some way to try some system or board level reset that will put the CPU in a good state so that the debugger can communicate with it.
