Debugger: How To Load Symbols Only If Verification Passes

In the On-chip flash plugin GUI (CCS Debug view -> Tools menu -> On-chip flash), you can change the Download Settings to "Verify Only" instead of "Erase and Program".  This way, you can avoid program load.  You can choose "Erase and Program" when you want to load the new code to flash.

Thanks Vamsi but that doesn't change anything for me. The program is still flashed on debug launch.

Let's approach it another way. If I select "Load symbols only"in the Debug settings, how do I then execute a Verify and then follow up with Load if necessary?

I suppose what I'm after is the equivalent of the "Load Image" and "Verify Image" buttons in UniFlash but for the CCS debugger:

Maybe you did not click on "Remember My Settings" at the bottom of the flash plugin GUI.

Please enable it and try.

Thanks but I clicked Remember Settings in the previous test but when debugging is launched flashing always occurs if Load Program is selected in the debugger configuration.

Anyway the combination of "Load Symbols Only" and a manual verification using the buttons in my previous post suits my purposes: To reflash only if verification fails.

Ok, glad that works for you.

Changing the download settings as I suggested should not trigger a flash load.  I will check if that is happening and file a ticket if it does.

FYI: I and our tools team tried to reproduce the issue that you mentioned.  We are not able to reproduce and it is working fine for us.
