CPU Clock Speed ?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CCSTUDIO

Hi All, I am currently using CCS v3.3 and operating in simulator mode. Could anyone please help me, how to change the clock speed (CPU) in simulator mode. I don't know at what speed is my CPU running. Also I wish to see my application performance under various CPU clock speeds. Regards, Shadowman

  • HI,

If you are in simulator mode and using a windows machine you need to go to:

    Start-->All Programs-->Texas Instruments-->Code Composer Studio 3.3--> Setup Code Composer Studio 3.3.

You wil need to select the device you are simulating and the CPU Clock speed will be displayed on the right window. If you want to modify the CPU speed you need to click the "Modify Properties" button.

    Hope this helps.

  • Hi Ivan,

Thank you so much for your suggestion. I did the same thing what you explained me earlier itself, but it is not helping me. Let me explain in detail about what I did,

    1. I added the "C6455 Simulator (with VCP & TCP), Little Endian"

    2. Then I selected(clicked) the device I added on the "Left side".

    3. I am able to see the following on my "Right Side"

          Device Type: CPU

          GEL File:

          Master/Slave: N/A

         Simulator Config File: C:\CCStudio_V3.3\drivers\simC6455.cfg

         Endianess: Little Endian

    4. I clicked "Modify Properties" - I got another window named "Processor Properties"

In the Processor Properties window, there is no option to change CPU clock speed.

Could you please help me..! I don't know further how to proceed.

  • In this case you need to modify the Simulator Config File. Please follow the procedure on the following link:

    http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/CPU_%26_Memory_Clock_Configuration#For_C64x.2B_Device_Simulators_in_CCSv3.3

Make sure you follow the instruction "For C64x+ Device Simulators in CCSv3.3 ".
