CCS V 4.2.3.00004 No device selection

I ran in to a problem after uninstalling CCS and reinstalling it and Grace.

If I follow the example (getting started with Grace) I can get to this point but I cannot select a specific device for my project. This problem results in an unsupported device error. The "more" button doesn't contain the specific devices either. I am running the code limited version of CCS because I'm developing for a school project. How do I select the specific chip I'm programming for? Do I need to download and install a specific chip reference lib.?

Josh,

The project wizard capture seems off. It should have a drop down for selecting the device variant and then the processor drop down beside that. It is missing from your capture. I think all the device xmls that drive this wizard are missing. i.e. the install is messed up.

I am going to download the code size limited tool and install it myself to see if I will see the same issue. You may want to try installing in a different folder (make sure to install somewhere other than program files if you are on vista or win7).

Ok I figured out the instal instructions correctly and installed outside of the program files folder then reinstalled Grace and it looks like it works. Now to figure out the project. Thanks for your help John.
