Copying a project

I have CCS 10.4.0.00006 on an M1 MacBookPro, and I cannot coy a project in the Project Explorer. I tried the obvious copy and paste and that does not seem to do anything.

  • Are you doing it with the shortcuts or the context menu?

I find that if I select the project.  Bring up the context menu and select copy.  Then bring up the context menu and select paste it works ok.  Note that if I don't have a project selected when I am pasting then I won't have the menu option to do that.  I am not sure why Eclipse wants me to have a project selected but it does.

I am going to grab my M1 running Big Sur to see if it is any different.

  • I tried out both 10.4 and 11.0 on my M1 running Big Sur.  It worked on both for me.  If you were using shortcuts try the control-click method to bring up the context menu.

  • Grr, It was the "Have the project selected in order to Paste" that got me. I was afraid that having a project selected during paste would paste the copied project *inside* the selected project!

    Thanks JohnS!

  • The first time I tried to reproduce I did the same thing.  I made sure to clear the selection in the project explorer so it wouldn't try to paste it inside of a project.  When the context menu didn't show up I figured I would try selecting a project.  Doesn't make a lot of sense as the selection has no impact on where the project goes.
