How to connect logic's omap-l138 evm development kit using code composer studio and target arm9 and c67xx separately?

I have to work on omap-l138. I am new to this board.

I dont have sd card with me so I can't connect to Linux.

I choose CCS4 to target ARM9 and C6748 separately .  I am not able to select proper target configuration in the list. How is it possible to the board to ccs4. Plz help.

  • Your target configuration should look like this:

And you need a USB cable that plugs between your computer and the USB port on the board next to the serial port.

    Thanks

  • Hi Ki lee,

Thanks for the suggestion. I shall try it.

  • URGENT:

I am able to connect to DSP core using the on-board emulator of the OMAP-L138 DEV kit from Logic PD and communicate with it using xdc100v2 target settings in CCS4.2 in sys/bios.

But I am not able to connect to ARM9 core using the on-board emulator. Will it support the on-board emulator or shall I need an external emulator . The issue is that I dont have external emulator but need to work on both ARM and DSP.

    Please some body help.

Sorry, but you will need an external emulator. The on-board emulator is an XDS100v1 and that does not support ARM.

You will need at least an XDS100v2.

    Thanks

  • Hi Ki-Soo,

I see the specs of xds100v2 and xds510 on spectrum web pages. xds510 supports OMAP-L138 where as xds100v2 supports ARM9 and TMS320C6748 processors since these are listed individually in the device list. Can you please clarify me whether the later supports the ARM9+c67xx integrated development in OMAP-L138 platform? Please confirm before going for procurement.

    with warm regards,
