CCS 11 cant import project

I have CCS 10.2 installed on my computer.

I installed the new ccs 11.

I am working with 28386S device.

When I try to import a project, CCS complains that I dont have the right compiler version:

However, I do have the compiler installed.

How to get around this?

Some more information,

The C28 projects open without an issue.

When trying to open a project for the M4, then I get the error.

Is this a C2000Ware example? If so, which version of C2000Ware?

Yes, I am trying to open C2000Ware examples.

Ver 4.00.00.00

Just to clerify, the C28 projects open with no problem.

The M4 projects have this issue.

If the issue is with the M4 projects, then the issue is likely because you don't have the required version of the Arm compiler. From your screenshot, I see that you have version 21.6.0 of the C28x compiler but not the Arm compiler.

Dear Ki,

I was asking you for the link for version 21.6.0 Arm compiler.

As amperes in the error message I get.

The latest version available to download is 20.2.5.

Please take this issue seriously.

My apologies. Looks like there is no 21.6.0 version for the Arm compiler. This means that the projectspec for the project specifies an incorrect version for the Arm compiler. This is a bug with C2000Ware. I will let the C2000 team know of this issue.

To workaround this issue, browse to the projectspec file for the project in C2000Ware. The location should be:

<C2000WARE INSTALL DIR>\driverlib\f2838x\examples\c28x_cm\empty_projects\CCS

Edit the empty_c28x_cm_driverlib_project.projectspec file in a text editor.

Remove line 28.

Then try to import the project again (you can either import the projectspec directly or from Resource Explorer). The project for the m4 will default to the latest available Arm compiler (20.2.5 for CCS11).

I think this also affects the CCS Cloud.

Just tried importing C2000Ware 4.00.00.00 -> English -> Examples -> F2838x -> c28x_cm -> ipc_ex1_basic into CCS Cloud. No error is reported, but the example project just doesn't appear in the CCS Cloud workspace.

Yes, this appears to be the case. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

I actually see an error about the compiler version with both legacy and the new cloud:

Note that if you are using the new theia based cloud environment, the message pops up in the lower right corner of the screen so perhaps you missed it?

I just tried again with the theia based cloud environment, and saw the message in the lower right corner of the screen.

Update from the C2000 team: The bug will be fixed in the next release of C2000Ware. The projectspec workaround can be used in the meantime for C2000Ware desktop users. For cloud users, the workaround is to use v3.04 of C2000Ware on the cloud.
