CCSv4 License Agreement

Dear TI,

I need to use CCSv4 for maintenance of our old product and wanted to check CCSv4 license agreement.

I found evaluation license in CCSv4 install directory, but no license agreement, as well as in Internet search.

Please give me CCSv4 license agreement, it is necessary for our legal purpose.

Following topic says it show when you register your CCSv4 in the past.

For now, you can unlock with license file below, and no license agreement information available.

Especially I wanted to know license of software source code provided with CCSv4.

In CCSv11, it is "Any redistribution and use of the source code, including any resulting derivative works, are licensed by TI for use only with TI Devices."

Is this the same in CCSv4.

Best regards,

Kosuke

  • Kosuke,

The CCSv4 license agreements were specific to the license type that the user purchased (node-locked, floating, site...).

However in general all of the license agreements include the following terms which limit use to TI devices.

Note Regarding Access to Open Source Software:  The Licensed Materials are bundled with Open Source Software.  "Open Source Software" means any software licensed under terms requiring that (A) other software (“Proprietary Software”) incorporated, combined or distributed with such software or developed using such software: (i) be disclosed or distributed in source code form; or (ii) otherwise be licensed on terms inconsistent with the terms of this Agreement, including but not limited to permitting use of the Proprietary Software on or with devices other than TI Devices, or (B) require the owner of Proprietary Software to license any of its patents to users of the Open Source Software and/or Proprietary Software incorporated, combined or distributed with such Open Source Software or developed using such Open Source Software.

Host License.  Other than with respect to the Fast Models technology included in the Licensed Materials and owned by ARM Limited (the “ARM Technology”), you may use the Licensed Materials to generate applications (“Licensee Applications”) that execute solely and exclusively on processing devices manufactured by or for TI (“TI Devices”).  You may use the Licensed Materials only on the single-user host computer system that you have identified to TI.

Attached is the node locked license agreement.  This was the most common one.  This one is for CCSv5.  If you need the exact one from CCSv4 I will need to reach out to our legal department to locate it.

  • Dear John,

    Thank you for your reply.

    I use node locked license.

It would be great if you would share CCSv4 license agreement.

I wanted to make sure I meet the license.

    Best regards,

    Kosuke

  • Kosuke,

I will reach out to the legal team to get a copy from their archive.  Would this be for CCSv4.0, 4.1 or 4.2?

    Regards,

    John

  • Kosuke,
