gmake: *** No rule to make target 'clean'

Hello,

I have CCS v11.1.0.00011.

I create a configuration from existing configuration. But when I compile this new configuration, I get error "gmake: *** No rule to make target 'clean'"

This problem was seen few month ago into the related post, It was exactly the same problem I have.

The solution in this related post was to wait the CCD v11.1 (because problem was seen on the previous version)

But today, I have this new version, but problem still present.

Please could you check that?

Hello,

This issue should be fixed in CCS 11.1. I was able to confirm this with my CCS 11.1 installation.

There is one quirk with the fix when you are trying to import a project that was originally imported/created in an earlier CCS. Please see the below post for more details:

Effectivelly, I have the same issue than Alain Dubois into your linked post.

My project was created with older CCS. I update CCS each time a new version appears. So my project is always imported from many older CCS version.

CCS v9.x.. v10.x.. v11.0,..v11.1...

like Alain Dubois, I have 2 configurations (Debug and Release)

I try to create new one from any existing (Debug or release) . But on compile time, I get make file error:

Hi,

don't know if this can help, but I've discovered the follow:

1) Create new build configuration from another configuration

2) Try to compile it using compile version TIv21.6.0.LTS

3) Compile not run and if I try to clean the project I receive the "gmake: *** No rule to make target 'clean' " message

4) Change th ecompilator to TIv20.12.0.STS

5) Try to compile and the compilation start without problem.

6) Return to TIv21.6.0.LTS and all works well.

7) I can clean the project, recompile it, delete the output directory and recompile: all works!

Edit:

Seems that it is sufficient to change the compilator tool, apply and close, and then return to the TIv21.6.0.LTS, apply and close, and all works.

This is the difference from a not working and working build in .cproject file.

"name=" section is missing in the not working build project.

Yes this seems to work. Thank you fro sharting your workaround! I will let engineering know of this additional quirk. Hopefull they can improve things in the furture
