CODECOMPOSER: Board.c and .h file generation

Part Number: CODECOMPOSER
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320F280045, TMDSCNCD280049C, C2000WARE

Dear Sirs

I'm developing code for the TMS320F280045 uC.  I need to have SPI master and slave communication abilities.  I have experience with the TIVA series controller but none with the C2000 series controller.  To get familiar with the C2000 series controller, I purchased the TMDSCNCD280049C control board and the TMDSHSEDOCK docking station.  To understand the SPI, I open the spi_ex3_external_loopback project in the following folder, C:\TI\c2000\C2000Ware_4_00_00_00\driverlib\f28004x\examples\spi.  I typically open each of the init functions to see how the controller and the peripheral are initialized.  I do this before compiling.  When I try to open the Board_init() function, I cannot find the source code.  I did a search, but found only .c.xdt and .h.xdt files.  However, after compiling the the project I can open the Board_init() function source code and header in their respective files.  I assume these files are generated at compile time.  I notice there is a .syscfg file included when I open the project.  I haven't been able to find any documentation on this process.  Please help me on this issue.  Thank you.
