CCS segmentation fault

and help us to continue to make the tools more robust.

I have the same problem (attempting to compile for G2231 and G2553), a reinstall of 4.2.2., an upgrade to 4.2.3  from within eclipse (update manager BUGGY, installs unneccessary components, 300MB total!) , a complete install of 4.2.3.00004 did NOT solve the problem. There is no further debug output ("..while     processing    " -- what?).

CCS installed to sys root, Windows 7 Professional 32 bit, this user access rights thing is turned off.

The error is completely random, manually building the modules sometimes works. The input files can't be the problem.

Please FIX ASAP, although CCS is free it is currently useless!

I've replaced  cl430.exe v3.3.2 with v3.3.1 - the build worked once without errors. Second try: segmentation fault.

Manually building single modules works.

GNU Make 3.81, different build doesn't change anything.

I tried to reproduce the error with the LaunchPad demo project (http://www.ti.com/lit/zip/slac435)  split into two modules but it builds fine with 3.3.2

Then I activate my current project and - it builds fine.

This happened again. Try switching to and building another project and then go back.

Maybe Eclipse or a project setting is causing this.

This is a known issue that has been fixed in current versions of the compilers. Specifically for MSP430, if you are using the code size limited version of the toolset, the fix is in version 3.3.3 of the compiler tools. You can update to this version from CCS. Got to Help->Software Updates->Find and Install. Search for new features to install, select Code Generation Tools and you shuld be able to update to v3.3.3 of MSP430 Code Generation tools from there.

You got my hopes up, but no updates found. Coder Generation Tools is not an item in the feature list.

No mention of a new release on http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Download_CCS either.

Is there another source for the code generation tools 3.3.3. for MSP430?

PS: the regular update from CCS 4.2.1 -> 4.2.3 does not update the compiler either, it's still 3.3.1

I m not sure how to do what you said. if I do the following

Got to Help->Software Updates->Find and Install. Search for new features to install, select Code Generation Tools - I don't see Code Generation Tools.

Clear the check in the box Ignore features not applicable to this environment and try again.  I can't make any guarantees, but that has helped me before.  Someone with more knowledge of CCS than me will have to explain why this makes a difference.
