CCS V4.2.1.00004 will not debug after installing licence for code imited version

Hi,

I am using CCSV4.2.1.0004 in a WIN7 environment. I am using it to develop a small program on the PICCOLO F28069 controlSTICK. I got my program debugged and working but my 30 day licence expired so I got a code limited licence and installed the licence file, but now the debugger will not work. The debugger erases and loads the FLASH with the program but the debugger doesn't start. I find that it does this with all programs, even the examples. Does anybody know why this is happening?

How did you get a code limited license? Usually the code limited license is tied to the other microcontroller core download image and there is no license file you need to deal with.

  • Hi Ki,

I selected Licensing Options/Use Free Limited Licence from the HELP tab. I was sent a licence file (.lic) by TI and I installed it.

I can build my project OK and when I run the debugger I don't get  any error messages.

Ah, ok. The Free Limited License is different from the Code Limited License.

So you do not get any error messages but the debugger does not start? Does it switch perspective? Can you try using a new workspace folder?

  • Hi,

I had the exact same problem and I confirm that deleting the .metadata folder in the workspace works!

    Thank you,
