XDS560v2 + c66xx - function profiling

I need to make function profiling on c66x (Nyquist). In past, with c64x (Faraday) I used XDS560 (usb560-m) + XDS560Trace in order to get program address and time. Everything worked fine. But now I need to do the same thing with c66x. I got only BH560v2 (without tracepod) - when I choose BH560v2 as DataReceiver in TraceControl I am getting this error:
Channel error: Trace Channel Error: transmitter failure : this version of the software only supports STM trace
I would like to add that when I choose ETB as DataReceiver everything is fine (but obviously it is only 16kB...).

My question is - which of following configurations would work for c66xx function profiling? Is there any?

  • XDS560v2 only
  • XDS560 (usb560-m) + XDS560T (tracepod) - works with c64x+, would it work with c66xx?
  • XDS560v2 + XDS560T (tracepod) - is it possible to use this configuration: new xds560v2 and old tracepod?


If nothing would work - what do I need?

PS. I use CCS 4.2.3

    Leon,

    As you noticed, the function profiling using the Tracepod is only available if the device supports the TI 60-pin trace connector. I can see that all C66x devices support Trace (check their datasheets). 

    Therefore, if your C66x board has this connector you have the necessary hardware to perform trace debug using the BH-USB-560m + Tracepod - just like you did with the C64x+.

    The XDS560v2 supports System Trace only and cannot be used with the old Tracepod.

    But is is possible to use XDS560v2 to do the function profiling with C66x (Nyquist).
