Problems with Floating License

We installed CCSv4 Version 4.2.3.00004 on one computer (XP prof., IP 134.91.65.50) and on the same machine the License Server FlexNet (Floating License).

With the first start CCS create the location file (licenselocation.txt) with the content:

27000@amt50

C:\Programme\Texas Instruments\ccsv4\DebugServer\license

C:\ti\license

Everything seems to run perfectly.

In a next step we installed CCS on another machine (Windows 7, IP 134.91.65.149). Both machines run in our network.

The location file on that machine is:

27000@134.91.65.50

C:\Programme\Texas Instruments\ccsv4\DebugServer\license

C:\ti\license

But CCS is still unlicensed and we get the error FLEXnet Licensing error -96,491 (see picture below)

Could you give us a hind to solve the problem?

Thank you

  • Hi,

The error -96 usually indicates there is a problem connecting to the license server. This is usually a network issue, and can be caused by a firewall blocking the port or a router misconfigured.

If you are running the graphical server configuration lmadmin on the Windows license server, open a web browser in the client machine and type the configurator's address 134.91.65.50:8080

If the network connection is ok, you should see the lmadmin graphical configuration tool.

If you can't see this screen you may have an issue with the connection itself. You can try to ping the server from the client machine and see if it "sees" the server.

Additional details to check the connection are shown in some FAQs on the web. A particularly useful one is here.

    Hope this helps,

    Rafael
