C66XCODECS: Inquiry about the license of C66XCODECSPCH

Hi Experts,

Our customer plans to develop their system with AM572x device, customer is considering to use “G722 Encoder and Decoder” in C66XCODECSPCH package (https://www.ti.com/tool/C66XCODECS ). Customer tried to investigate this license, however, they were not able to find the detail information for this. Could you elaborate it in detail, please?

And then, customer noticed there is the description which is “TI codecs are free, come with production licensing and are available for download now.” In top page of C66XCODECS . Is this license a form of licensing like “BSD-3-Clause”? Or, is there an obligation to disclose the source code when using this libraries?

It will be really appreciated if you will share your advice, helpful documents or comments on customer’s inquires.

What source code are you referring to? The codecs I believe are provided in binary only and are free to use.

customer is considering to use “G722 Encoder and Decoder” in C66XCODECSPCH, and I understand it is binary file. Customer means, when they use this binary in their system, customer is asking if customer needs to disclose customer’s source code or not. And it will be appreciated if you will share the license information about this binary file.
