C6618 simulator with CCS version 4.2.0.10018

Hi,

I am using a Windows 7 machine and I need to work with c6618 simulators . I installed simulators for 6616 and 6618 processors and copied c66xx xml file in ..\..\targetdb\cpus folder. Thereafter I installed CCS version 4.2.0.10018 in D:/TI folder.

I am able to use the 6616 simulator but whenever I try to use 6618 degugger, ccs4 crashes with attached image.

One point to note, CCS version CCS4.2.3.00004 is also crashing for c66xx simulator in windows 7 enviornment.

Where did you get these files?

Hi Ki,

We got these files from TI. We have (ti_sim_tci6618_setup_0.4.0) file with us. If there is any other version of simulator that works on Windows7, Please let us know.

Hi Nizam,

CCS v5 is working fine on windows7 but we need to work on CCS 4.2 as lot of work has already been carried out on CCS 4.2 ( on Windows XP OS). But we are facing functionality issues of 6618 simulator for CCS4.2 on Windows 7.

Hi Pankaj,

Can you please clean up the Cache file which were created by CCS. Since you added new xml file, it is recommended to delete the cache files. Cache will be created at C:\Documents and Settings\a0393294\local Settings\Application Data\.TI folder in Windows XP machine. I don't have much knowledge on Windows 7, it think it should be Document and Setting folder in C drive.
