Change PC when debugging

I'm still getting used to CCS after using other IDEs for years and can't seem to find how to quickly change the program counter to a specific instruction. I'm used to right-clicking on either a source or assembly instruction and selecting "SET PC TO HERE" so I can either back up in code or more commonly skip over something I don't want to call or test while debugging.

Am I having a blind day (it's HOT in here) or was this important function left out?

Check the screen below. In the source code or disassembly view do you have an option Set PC to cursor?

I don't have that option either, but would like to change my PC value. Did you ever get an answer to your question?

No, haven't heard anything. I'm not upgrading this software to a full version, for future small projects I'll stick with Imagecraft ICC430 (I've had the pro version for a long time), for new projects I'll be using Code Red with ARM processors from another vendor. Look for a review from me in a month or so in one of the trade magazines.

Jerry and Gary,

Sorry for the delay; are you sure you have the CCSv5.1.0.09000 version installed? Also, you can go try to reset the perspective by going to menu Window --> Reset Perspective... as it sometimes helps in restoring context menus and other window arrangements (reference in the section General IDE of the CCS troubleshooting page)?

I didn’t mean to imply I had version 5. I bought CCSv4 in 2010 and there will probably not be any more money for IDEs until I deliver something with this one.

Since my last visit, a co-worker showed me how I had something configured wrong, and now when I halt the execution, a screen opens in my C source file with a marker showing where the PC is. This is close enough.

I didn’t explain that very well. Unlike Jerry, I never wanted to change my PC, only know where in the program it was pointing.

Both CCSv4 and CCSv5 should have this feature. In CCSv4, it is call Set PC to cursor, where as in CCSv5, it is call Move To Line. You have to click in the disassembly column to see this menu item, not the address column.

I am using CCS 6,

and I see the "Move to Line" in the drop down menu in the text editor.

I would like to set a hot-key for this action (Window->Preferences : General->Keys)

Can you please tell me what this is called in there?

I see no "Move to Line," or "Set PC to Cursor"
