C55BootImage.exe tool integration into CCS12, for automatic .COFF to BIN file conversion ?

You would not get the same level of integration as the Hex Utility as that involved some modifcations to the actual CCS project manager.

The Hex Utility executable was also originally called as a post-build step until we integrated it into CCS.
