if you continue with the update/install the resulting configuration will contain duplicate conflicts that may cause parts of the product to be unusable

Umm, no - what do I do with this?

got this message after updating CCS4 then searching for and trying to apply other updates.

  • Hi Kurt,

It is fine to say 'Yes' and ignore the warning. But I agree it does sound alarming and something we need to resolve on our end.

    Thanks

  • yeah, espeically the part about "...may cause parts of the product to be unusable."

    ok, updating now...

  • OK, but this isn't a very good answer.  We need to *eliminate* the message.  Someone from TI needs to post something more useful, such as "You can just go ahead and delete xxx and yyy files found in zzz directory either before or after the update" or something to that effect.

  • I keep getting this same message every time I do an update.  It acts like it is not applying the DSP/BIOS update so that it tries again each time.  Is the update really happening? Should I be removing one of the directories as suggested in another post? This has been happening for several updates.  Would be nice to see it fixed as it is very unnerving.

  • I am getting this error message also.

However, I have learned the hard way from past MISTAKES in "ignoring" stuff like this to not ignore them. Whatever is causing this needs to be resolved and not have users ignore errors that tell you your tool (or parts of the tool) might become unusable.
