CCS Installation; installation or use of foreign infrastructure

 Hello, following question:

If CCS and it's components gets installed, will be any data gets stored or processed outside the customer infrastructure,

Can you also please add this topic to

https://software-dl.ti.com/ccs/esd/documents/users_guide_12.2.0/ccs_overview.html

Thanks and BR Ralf

  • Hello,

CCS does have an option for sending crash dumps and other logs back to TI for analysis. There is some user data in there (installation paths, OS used, username could be in the path, etc).  However that is only ever sent to TI with the user’s acknowledgement.

What we can officially state is:

"Code Composer Studio does not disclose any user information without the users acknowledgement.”

    Thanks

  • May there be a possibility to switch it off in case?

  • I do not believe so.

Note that this will only happen after a CCS crash. The next time CCS starts, CCS pop up a dialog informing the user that CCS crashed and will ask if the user wishes to send TI some diagnostic logs. If the users declines, then nothing will be sent and this dialog will not appear again until after CCS crashes again.

    Thanks

    ki
