CCS 9.1.0.00010 and Segger J-link

Hello,

The J-Link version available in CCS usually trails the latest available from SEGGER so this is not a surprise. As for forcing an update to a later version, there are some workarounds that involve manually copying in binaries. Perhaps that is what those "historical posts" refer to. I have not done this myself in some time. It is likely best to contact SEGGER support directly for the best way to do this.

You are correct. The historical posts pointed to manually copying the dll and running into new issues. 

I originally reached out to Segger regarding the emulation error. They have now pointed me to TI as their latest dll is out and not being pulled into CCS.

There is a packaging and handoff process from SEGGER to provide the drivers for CCS. There is also an update site which they package and make available via the CCS update mechanism. We'll have to work with them to get their latest drivers into a future CCS release.

Can you direct me to those posts? i can't seem to find them. I recall trying this out long time ago and it worked for me then. I'd like to try it out again.

Did you try the manual copy yourself and see errors? If so, what were the exact errors?

If I recall correctly, the manual copy is taking the JLink_x64.dll in the latest JLink package and dropping it into:

<CCS INSTALL DIR>\ccs\ccs_base\DebugServer\drivers

Originally, I had v7.70 also:

Then I manually dropped in the latest dll:

Seems to work ok...

I didn't think to verify the dll being used in their local host debug menu. I was expecting the dll version to update within CCS from help->about code composer studio->installation details. This didn't update when I manually copied the dll so I wasn't sure if I was updating the correct file.
