Exception occurred during launch

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP430G2452

Hello everyone !!!

I was working on MSP430G2452 for over a month now. While I was trying to drive my stepper motor through launchpad, after some trials it started showing an error and it says it can't launch after writing the whole program to the microcontroller . So, can anyone help me in this ??

Please also give the suggestions to come out of this problem.

Here is the detailed error that I got....

MSP430: File Loader: Data verification failed at address 0x0000E045 Please verify target memory and memory map.

Error found during data verification.

Ensure the linker command file matches the memory map.

  • Prashant,

Which version of CCS are you using? If the problem only started appearing recently, do you recall what changes you made to your project before this error started?

I would suggest first trying some of the CCS troubleshooting tips suggested in the General IDE and Debugger sections of this wiki page:
    http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Troubleshooting_CCS

Another suggestion is to see if you can erase and program the device using a different tool (such as Elprotronic). They have a free tool which you can download from their web site. This could help narrow down if the problem is specific to CCS or not.

  • Hi Prashant,

it would be helpful to have more information to both determine the issue as well as make sure it is us vs MSP430 help you require.

From a first look, it is almost like you may be running out of memory.   Could you please check this in the map file?  You should find the map file typically in the debug folder of your project/workspace.

Any further information would help and please keep us posted.

    Best Regards,
    Lisa

  • Hi Prashant,

I just wanted to check whether you are still having this issue and whether you would be able to provide a bit more information as requested.  This of course can also be done in a offline manner.

    Best Regards,
    Lisa
