Example Project for CCS v4 on OMAP EVM with om3530 or a Beagle or a Beagle XM

The process of configuring and connecting OMAP3530 boards using a XDS100v2 is covered in the references below:

If you are still having problems after trying the configurations above you may want to check the General IDE and Debugger sections of the troubleshooting guide.

With regards to example code, CCS provides templates to create projects for various platforms and devices (check the section Creating Projects of the Getting Started Guide). If you are creating a simple hello world project (that does not use a RTOS) you will need an additional linker CMD file to be added to the project (one can be found here).

If you intend to start your development with Linux, I suggest you trying out the DVSDK4 for OMAP3530EVM or the Angstrom distribution for the Beagleboards.

Have been using DVSDk for the app development side of things and for that its okay if harder than I'm sure is ideal but now I have hardware to bring up hence the need to jtag at a low level. Ideally therefore we need guidance on how to get a board up from nothing!

I'm in the same boat as you. Trying to get XDS100v2 JTAG access to the DSP via CCS4.

Was not able to connect.

This is the closest thing that I found, but I haven't been able to get it to run:

I know a couple of things: At power on restart (before UBoot), the DSP is in reset.

With the XDS100 v2, you have to connect to the ARM first, bring the DSP out of reset

using Code or Gel Files & then try accessing the DSP.

Can connect just can't do much when I have if using the beagle xm, ideally TI would have produced a sampleoproject with UBL/Xloader in it but seems that not on their roadmap

If you are able to connect with ccs 4, do you have a sample project that will do this. I've been struggling the last several days trying to just connect.

Thanks for the help. I've got code running on the DSP & ARM. The next step for me is the boat loading as well. I'll keep you up to date on any progress.

I am trying to load hello world in beagle xm board using CCS4.2x, but could not been able to do it. i get below warnings when i build the project

warning: cannot resolve archive C:/Program Files/Texas

and when i do debug i get this message
