I am trying to write a project for a CC2630 based board, and as a development analog I also have a LAUNCHXL-CC2630. Finding resources for this has been a labyrinth and I'm still trying to just get any demo program compiled. I see a large number of demo applications but whenever I hit "create" one of two things happens

1. (on Firefox) I am redirected to the web IDEs general start page and it identified my LAUNCHXL board, but seems to have no knowledge of the fact I followed a link to import a project

2. (on Chrome) I am redirected to the same IDE and it cannot find any board.

When I view the files for the examples (I have spot checked a few) they are all for the CC2640R2.

So my questions are

1. Are there any example projects for the LAUNCHXL-CC2650 or that platform at all? Or am I completely on my own getting off the ground here?

2. How do I actually open one of these demo projects, preferably on the non-web IDE?

You can download BLE Stack 2.2 from here https://www.ti.com/tool/BLE-STACK

Regarding TI CC2630, I suggest you ask at TI BLE Forum regarding recommended SDK. https://e2e.ti.com/support/wireless-connectivity/bluetooth-group/bluetooth/f/bluetooth-forum

TI BLE Stack 2.2 is for TI CC2640 and CC2650 and there are no examples that would work for TI CC2630.

You might also want to consider a much more recent TI MCU that supports Zigbee and 6LoWPAN .

Hi Markel, thanks for the reply. I only need the 802.15.4 features (the CC2630 is the same die as the 2650 just w/o BLE) so I dont expect to use that stack at all. Unfortunately this is for an already deployed hardware product so there is no flexibility on the MCU.

I think I am missing something fundamental here. I am trying to just get a blinky together with TI RTOS so Im not sure what I need with specific SDKs... Wouldn't those be modules handled by the broader OS? Most of my prior embedded experience is with RIOT and Zephyr I might be thinking about this wrong.

I was able to adapt a LAUNCHXL-CC2650 demo in IAR into a blinky for the CC2630 so I was hoping there'd be something I could do with CCS. IAR is expensive especially if a free alternative exists.

I only need 802.15.4 so the Zigbee stack isn't relevant. It's very discouraging that IAR is needed there, I certainly hope that isn't the case for just the radio protocol. I'm still completely lost but I think I know where to ask now. Thanks.
