LP-CC2651R3SIPA: How to increase SRAM

Hi Engineers,

I need at least 40kB of SRAM for my project to run but in my controller (CC2651R3SIPA) SRAM is 32KB. I think it is possible to use 8KB of

cache as RAM. Please suggest me how to do it

I followed the procedure as per Using the Cache as RAM — SimpleLink CC13XX/CC26XX SDK Proprietary RF User's Guide 5.30.00 documentation but still .bss is in SRAM and in memorry allocation GUI i dont see the block of GPRAM now. and SRAM is still 32768.

Hi Ajmal,

You have performed the correct procedure, however please note that this will not increase the length of SRAM but rather re-allocate SRAM resources to GPRAM. Thus by moving sections (like .bss) from SRAM to GPRAM you should notice a decrease in SRAM used whereas the GPRAM usage increases. Be sure to clean and rebuild your project after making the changes.

Hi Ryan,

Thank you for your reply, I dont see any changes in SRAM when I moved .bss into GPRAM.

The above is the result when i moved .bss into GPRAM.

The above is the result is when .bss is in SRAM. I dont even see GPRAM section itself.

Help me out in this.

When I applied the instructions from Configure the Cache as GPRAM on the fatsdraw no-rtos ti-clang example (one exception being the cc13x1_cc26x1_nortos.cmd file only changes the .bss from SRAM to GPRAM), from the output .map file I could observe the SRAM used space decrease from 0x407D to 0x2911 whereas the GPRAM used space increased from 0x0000 to 0x176C. The same is reflected by the "Memory Allocation" window. Please clean your project before rebuilding and ensure that the .cmd file has been modified correctly.
