Hi e2e community,

I've been having issues with unattended mode (and even text mode) installation with CCS. I've tried the 5 latest versions (11.2 -> 12.3). I'm trying to install on Docker starting with Ubuntu 22.04 as the base image. All pre-reqs are installed as per details defined in https://software-dl.ti.com/ccs/esd/documents/ccsv12_linux_host_support.html

I see some documentation out there for older versions of CCStudio working for some people in docker containers, but those are not known to work with our SimpleLink or TI gcc toolchains. I do not see any examples out there for docker images for CCStudio newer than version 9.

After every attempt to install via command line, this is the response:

Error: There has been an error.
Text mode is not supported. Please set your display and run the installer again.

Hi Ki,

This was not successful. Only about 560MB gets installed into the /path/to/ccs directory. It should be around 2.9GB.

Sadly, there is no output in this mode to the terminal to understand what may be wrong. I've tried multiple levels of the --debuglevel flag. Any ideas?

Can you provide all the logs in <CCS INSTALL DIR>/ccs/install_logs?

The resolution was to build the Dockerfile on an amd64 machine, not an arm64 system with `--platform=linux/amd64`. Other TI tools would install on such a machine, but not CCS.

Ah, yes. Thanks for the update. CCS will only run on x86_64 (amd64) machines. Mac is a bit of an exception as CCS will run on M1 machines via Rosetta.
