Preventing the debugger from building project

Hello support,

I'm using CCS 12.2.0

Question is: is it possible to prevent the debugger from starting a new build ?

Reason: currently, in case I modify only a "comment" into an header file used by many sources, launching the debugger starts a new build of almost all the source modules.

The system goes by the file modified date to know whether to re-compile. It has no way of knowing whether a change is substantive or not. You could use touch or a similar tool to backdate the file to before the change so the compile is not triggered.

You can also attach to an already running process. You can avoid the compile/flash step:

Not for a Project Debug session.

You can always launch a project-less (manual) debug session as Keith mentioned.
