Working of CCS 4.2.3 with MSP430F249 Simulator

Hi everyone,

I downloaded the CCS 4.2.3 recently and it is too different from the older versions. I was wondering how to choose the Simulator option in this. At the stage of project creation it asks to select the Target but i do not have the target, i need to work on Simulator. Also i read through the forums that there is no support available for the Simulator in Version 4. Please make this clear to me.

i appreciate your early response............ Thanks in advance.........

Thanks,

Dhanalakshmi

  • Dhanalakshmi,

There is no MSP430 simulator available for Code Composer Studio.

  • Hi John,

Many thanks for your reply. Can you please tell me what are the simulators it supports in CCS V4. Because some people used to say there are some similar type of Simulators available in that. Hope this will help me to understand what i can do further.

    Thanks in advance......

    Regards,

    Dhanalakshmi

  • Dhanalakshmi,

The list of simulators in CCS is quite long.  You can browse through it if you want.

From the view menu in CCS click on "Target Configurations".  Select to create a new target configuration.  Select "Texas Instruments Simulator" as the connection.  You can then see the simulators that are available in your installation.  This list will vary based on what you have installed.  If you have only installed the free code size limited tools there would only be a F283x simulator, if you have installed the full CCS tools there are dozens of simulators present, most of them are for our DSP families.

    Regards,

    John
