Custom install of CCS 5.1.0.06000 with limited options

A question concerning the new install routine introduced some milestones ago:

I downloaded the complete installation file (to provide an installation basis for a quick installation without download delay). With the old installation routine I could de-select non wanted features (like CGT or BIOS installation or emulator support). The new routine offers to de-select emulator support only. Even if de-selected, some emulator support is installed. CGT and BIOS are always installed even if I do not want to (prefer to keep them in independent installation directories).

How can I get the behavior of the old installation routine back?

  • Hi,

Although it seems an oxymoron, select Typical instead of Complete - it will let you select the ISAs and the components you need.

I already filed a bug about that and this will be fixed in the production release.

    Best regards,

    Rafael

  • I tried, but that only offers the choice to not install DSP BIOS and emulator support. The compiler is always installed automatically. This is not so comfortable: if you need another CGT version to be used (installed somewhere else on your disk) and forget to make this known to the CCS installation, the automatically installed compiler will be used without warning. This may result in difficult to find errors. If the compiler was not installed at all by default, at least there would be a warning.

  • Hi,

Are you trying to install for C6000 only? I was playing with the installer and saw that, only for this family, the installer does not allow the selection of the Code Generation Tools as shown in the screen below:

If this is not your device family, could you send the screen captures of your selections so we could better track what may be happening? Also, which CCS version and OS are you using?

    Regards,

    Rafael

  • Just FYI, I filed today the bug number SDSCM00041149.

  • Hi,

yes, I install for C6000 only. The behavior is the same for CCS5.1.0.05000 and 5.1.0.06000. My installation target is a Windows XP PC.
