CCS v3.3 DM6437 EVM problem

I installed CCS v3.3 and DVSDK provided by the DM6437 EVM package. I can build the video_preview example project and I can connect to the DM6437 EVM board and load the .out into it. But the problem is I cannot successfully run the code and debug into it. When I press "run" the status is showing "running" but actually it is not running correctly. I cannot go to the main() code by clicking "go main". Any one experienced the same problem before? I tried on different PCs, the same problem. Did I miss out something? I carefully followed the "TMS320DM6437 DVDP Getting Started Guide".

I also updated the CCS v3.3 to the latest version. The problem not solved.

Seems that it is stuck at the booting up code because I can halt and see some assembly code.

Sometimes when I try to halt the CPU, I got the following error message:

Trouble Halting Target CPU:

Error 0x00001026/-1202

Error during: Memory, Register, Execution, Target,

CPU pipeline is stalled and the CPU is 'not ready'. This means

that the CPU has performed an access which has not

completed, and the CPU is waiting. The target may need to be

reset. The user can choose 'Yes' to force the CPU to be 'ready'.

When this is done, the user will have the ability to examine

the target memory and registers to determine the cause of the

CPU stall. If CPU hang is caused by application and it has been

forced to be 'ready', the CPU should not be run without a reset.

Yes - force CPU ready (might corrupt the code)

Disconnect - disconnect CCS so that it can be reset

Retry - attempt the command again

DDR2 problem. Problem resolved by adjusting the DDR2 timing. Change the values for DDR_SDTIMR and DDR_SDTIMR2 in the .gel file. Wondering why the original evm board have such kind of problem. Thanks for the solution provided by Fu Hua!

BTW, TI's support is not good. Sent out the email support haven't got any reply yet.

Hi Xuemiao

You can try to get the latest GEL file from TI support and check the difference of DDR values I mentioned above.
