CCSv4 and Trace Analyzer

I am interested in using the Trace Analyzer to profile my DSP application. Here is what I have:

  • Target : DSP Core in the DM3730
  • Available Emulators : Spectrum Digital XDS560V2 STM USB Emulator or Blackhawk USB560-M Emulator, 20-pin JTAG Cable
  • Code Composer v4.2.3.00004

Based on my attempts with both emulators, I've been unable to invoke Trace Control. I assume that either the DM3730 or my emulators or both don't support ETB. Is this true?

Assuming this feature is unsupported by the DM3730, can you recommend techniques for profiling cache performance. I'd be satisfied if I could simply deduce the # of cache misses, both instruction and data.
